SIMBL Agent doesn't get registered with launchtl #4

1. Install SIMBL-0.9.5b.pkg.
2. Install a 64-bit plugin.
3. Reload 64-bit application and behold the plugin isn't loaded.

The plugin should load. SIMBL Agent should print stuff to the console. SIMBL
Agent should be listed in
Activity Monitor. SIMBL Agent should show up if I do "launchctl list | grep -i
simbl". None of that happens.

This is on 10.6.1 on an x86_64 machine.

I also noted that the uninstaller complained:

9/12/09 7:46:38 PM [0x0-0x24a24a].net.culater.SIMBLUninstaller[8196] launchctl:
Error unloading:
net.culater.SIMBL.Agent

After inspecting the postflight script, I ran "launchctl load -F -S Aqua ..."
and all became well.

What plugin does not reload?

SIMBL and SIMBL Agent both write to system.log.

SIMBL Agent does show up in the Activity Monitor.

SIMBL Agent does show up if you run "launchctl list | grep -i simbl" once you
have logged in again.

There is a small bug in the install script, simply rebooting the machine will
fix the issue.

Had the same problem.
Try moving all Plugins from /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/ to your users
~/Library/Application
SUpport/SIMBL/ folder.
Resolved the issue for me.

Greetings and many thanks to the developer

With the latest release (0.9.6b) I fixed this issue by repairing permissions
via Disk
Utility. It complained that /Library/LaunchAgents permissions were wrong. I
checked
the install script and it is setting the permissions to 775 when the correct
setting should
be 755 (according to Disk Utility). This may or may not be a related issue with
/Library/ScriptingAdditions (Issue 6).

This is much more likely to be related to the installer and the permissions on
the LaunchAgents directory.

After installing Glims Beta 21 RC, SafariStand does not load. Not sure what
triggers this, however, reinstalling an
earlier 21 beta build restores Stands functionality. I've reported this to the
Glims developers.
