Sorry for the delay in letting you know I saw this.
I will have to look into disqus, and think how it would fit into that this is a generated static site right now, and what moderation with disqus would look like.
The idea of sharing an episode/recommendations could be interesting, while discussion about an episode might make more sense to direct to the original site, as the podcast producers and guests would be more likely to find it there.
Thanks for bringing this up though, I will have to chew the idea over in my head for a bit.

I think disqus is the optimal solution for static pages, since it requires no resources (like database), its added as a snippet that requires javascript. Its the default chat solution for most static page generators, you will see many jekyll, hexo, hugo, hakyll blogs with it, mostly programmer and tech blogs. There a also bigger companies that use it e.g. gitlab https://about.gitlab.com/2017/03/02/why-we-are-not-leaving-the-cloud/
There might be some interest in talking about the podcasts, e.g. recommending an episode.
