⚠️ ATTENTION: Looking for a maintainer for bxSlider #1095

Open stevenwanderski opened 7 years ago

stevenwanderski commented 7 years ago

In an effort to keep a great community alive, I am currently searching for any contributors that are interested in becoming a full or partial maintainer of bxslider-4. There are a lot of great PRs to review and bugs to smash, and I will offer all the help I can in guidance and transition. I am hoping to revive this project and get it back to active deployment and maintenance.

Please let me know if anyone is interested and thanks for all the years of support 🙏 ❤️

I could help with the maintenance of the documentation, easier types of issues and the updating the website.

Future development of bxslider is above my JavaScript knowledge but I would gladly contribute back to this project in the ways I can. It would also be a good opportunity to learn more javascript for me personally.

So together with a group of people I could help.

geekSivz commented 7 years ago

Hey @stevenwanderski ,

I would like to give my hands to work with this community to smash the bug and reviewing PR's as a Part time member.

If you have intrested to take me as a part-time member to contibute here, I am pretty much intrested to work with you.

Regards, Siva G.

stevenwanderski commented 7 years ago

@viktorbijlenga @geekSivz Thank you so much! I have added both of you as collaborators. I am currently making the documentation site easier to promote new versions.

If you'd like to accept my invitation and start with some easy issues / PRs I would be in your debt 👊

jeffdrumgod commented 7 years ago

I very like this project. It's my favorite slider. Can I help you contribute too?

viktorbijlenga commented 7 years ago

@stevenwanderski I've started digging trough old issues. I think I can manage to close a few here and there. A good way to contribute back to the community, and a good way to learn more about the core of bxSlider.

ginsterbusch commented 7 years ago

@stevenwanderski Maybe turn it into a Group / Team account and add all contributors to it? Thats what happened in a few similar cases (and helped, most of the time).

Hello @stevenwanderski, I have never been a maintainer before but would love to help. I've used this great plugin for years and keep on pushing it to every project I touch. Would be glad to help whenever I can! I'm eager to give back!

I recommend @jeffdrumgod he is the best programmer I've seen. He works with Reactjs and could implement nice features to integrate with reactjs and also improve with new cool features with other options.

emacslisp commented 7 years ago

This project save my life in one of my work.

I like to contribute my time to make it better. Let me know if there are any bugs/new features which need help.

Have enabled tyhis to be able to work with new ajax added results with some custom code myself and found a way to destroy a slider that actually works more reliably than your current method

jaldip commented 6 years ago

Sure I offer my services mate. Please suggest how to take it forward from here,

edwardgoodnow commented 6 years ago

forwarded this to my employer...just so you know I have created a 100% custo version of you library (I do still use the basic library in one place)....but I found your library to have huge issues with new elements being added to it through AJAX or Websockets...and huge issue when there was more than one instance on the page as well...along with numerous other issues...so I customized it. I suspect my employer wants to talk to you because you might help us...but at this point some of your methods for destroy or reload don't even work...but I have discovered my own methods....and you might want to incorporate some of what I have done into your own libraries...also I found interacting with elements within a slide and having the slide move forward to not work at all(so that a person could interact with a form that used the data from that element). I am open to hearing other solutions at this point...but I have already addressed alot of bugs in your library(conflicts in certain options....don't get upset I tried 3 other carousels as well....yours did work the best...but I did discover it needed heavy customization for it function for our needs)....my library includes an options for AJAX url and other stuff at this point...so unwinding the custom library will not work at this point...but since Rick was interested in talking to you I am forwarding this

I would like to contribute to this project.

Hello,

It seems like this library is no longer actively managed. However I have tried to fix fast/multiple click issue (Fixed #1128 #1144). If you find it useful please accept it. I would also offer my help to maintain this library.

Thanks.
