Finally got a screenshot, thought I'd add context ππ½
Mod has Member badge, but is not a member.
I did push a change yesterday, trying to fix this, but I may need to spend more time on it.
The doubling of the "membership" and "member" isn't intentional either, but that will take me longer to fix if its an issue.
Okay, gotcha! I'll be streaming on Wednesday-Friday so will let you know if I notice a difference or not.
The doubling doesn't bother me at all, but I see how that would be unintentional. Out of curiosity, what is it supposed to say? The number of months or something?
It will show the number of months, etc, if that data is available. It might also show a donation, or member-event-type
the logic is a bit of a mess right now, but it's holding together for the most part. I need to rewrite it all at some point

Oh cool! Sounds like that would look really nice, but also I understand it not being fully implemented yet.

Here's the result from yesterday's stream:
I like this solution! For me it's a big improvement to at least have the word "Moderator" there. Thank you for making this change.
I sing songs to members, and so when chat (including nonmembers) see a member badge, they like to remind me to sing one of my terrible greeting songs haha. That's why I mentioned the issue, since the moderator's "Membership" badge would pop up and folks thought I needed to sing lol.
But now I can say "Ah, see, it says Moderator, so no song π"
Moderators who are Members, have the same badge as moderators who are non-members.
I'm still glad to see something a little different than before -- it's better than not denoting moderators! -- but just thought I'd let you know how the change you did make appearsππ½
The doubled message thing is something I need to fix. Thank you for offering me a screen shot of the result. I'll definitely need to address this when I'm feeling mentally sharp enough
No problem! Yeah take your time, we'll make do until then. Love your extension, it's great for our community.
(And let me know however I can help)
I recently set the Emoji Wall to be members-only via the Social Stream settings, and I noticed that moderators (despite not being members) get access to posting these emojis on the wall. (It otherwise works great btw! ππ½)
Figured I'd say something in case it's helpful in understanding why Moderators are treated like Members by SS on YouTube, even when they're not members!
I'm still getting chatters who are confused that Mods get Member privileges π
In previous updates, featured overlay messages from mods who are members wouldn't show the "Membership" badge.
In a recent update, "Membership" badges appear on my featured overlay messages for both mods who are members, and mods who aren't members.
