it would be nice if we can add the possibility of a selective import

pre load the workouts in a temporary list.
Then do the actual import only selected trainings.

Not sure if this is possible with the Communicator plugin.  I don't think I can 
prefetch workouts so a full load might still be required but a selection menu 
might be displayed afterwards as not to import everything into ST.
