How to schedule a card notification #3

I think I may have found something that may help check out the deliveryTime property https://developers.google.com/glass/v1/reference/timeline/insert#notification.deliveryTime

Other methods discussed: taskqueue/worker ...

Good catch. Seems like this is more than good enough. One thing that we might further need to look into is how to cancel these in case a user terminates a work out. We can procrastinate on that for now however.

i can't wait to start testing this. Let me know when you break ground on the get notification and post workout card stuff so that I can be available to test with you

Actually scheduling a card notification alone isn't enough to implement what we want.

The problem is that if we schedule cards with deliveryTime in advance we don't give a user the chance to stop his workout. There is a way to delete a card so hopefully that is enough. The use case that I'm thinking about is as follows:

stigsfoot commented 11 years ago

very good point. are you saying the delete action item also terminates the scheduled cards?

rgrinberg commented 11 years ago

I've been testing that out and it seems like it does. A little more testing is necessary. If that's possible then it gives us a way to massively simplify the design of glassfit. Since we can just schedule whole work outs ahead of time and just provide a way to cancel them.

i like simple, I can't wait to test it out. man, i want to clean things up and demo this soooo bad. You have no idea how many people keep asking. Perhaps i shouldn't have made the promopage public.
