When you rise the Offset to the maximum and then lower the width, the offset stays the same. Therefore the offset is outside the width-tunnel. This leads to a zig-zag-driving pattern.

Set width to e.g. 5
Set offset to the max, so 2.5
Reduce width to 2
=> Offset > Width
