Note: 100000 ft is 30480 meters.

And the search query to use is ‘high altitude balloon burst altitude’.

Another calculator: http://habhub.org/calc/; indicates how far into the flight the balloon will burst. Can also change the gas in the balloon.

Also need to limit the descent rate, to avoid issues with GPS cutout (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoCom#Legacy).
