Hi,
I just added the libraries I know exist. I'm happy to take in your suggestions, the list needs some expansion anyway. The people looking and using this list are probably also interested in more back-end stuff anyways.
Maybe it's an idea to make a separate file (like HARDWARE.md where we can put all the back-end stuff?
I'll be happy to add you as a collaborator :)
Hey @peternewman, any news?
Closing the issue because there's no activity. Let me know @peternewman

Okay, it just seems a rather odd mix to have stuff anyone can walk up and use (like a lighting desk) mixed in with the stuff that's used to make those things (like programming libraries) I'd imagine the people who use both, would be rather slim, even more so the people who need a list of lighting desks.

I suspect a separate awesome list would be better in that case, I'd worry if people would just search for say Art-Net and not find what they wanted and move on.

Sorry, been busy pottering with other things and also partly waiting for #13 to be done so the new layout was a bit more clear cut.

Very true, I agree with you

Yup! Do you have any suggestions for different filenames? (like SCRIPTING.md
or PROGRAMMING.md
)

That's fine! I also pushed the changes in #13
I'm closing this again since it has gone stale. @peternewman
I've been thinking about putting together an awesome-lighting list for some time (probably chucking it up within https://github.com/openlightingproject/ ), but I see you've beaten me to it during lockdown.
Although I was going to focus more heavily on the modules/components side of things and the more niche end. E.g. you've got NodeJS and Java Art-Net implementations, there are also ones in C/C++, Arduino, Python, Go (I think) and probably others. Then the same thing for sACN/E1.31, various pixel protocols and likewise Enttec USB DMX Pro protocol. Going even more niche, there are also a number of DMX/RDM/IP protocol sniffers I was going to gather (listing a few because they require different hardware).
I was also going to list some more wider interest stuff like some other lighting control systems and some lighting playback stuff and some middle ground like fixture profiles.
I was wondering your thoughts anyway, I don't want to flood your list with niche stuff, but don't want to duplicate either. Are you happy to take all of that, or would it make sense to keep the general end user facing stuff as part of your list and have my awesome-lighting (or some other similar name) for people who want to write stuff that eventually appears on your list (i.e. the building blocks for your list)?
