incompatibility with Microsoft Word #13

Closed davidmjones closed 6 years ago

Hi, I have tried the new 1.1 version on both Microsoft 2007 and Microsoft 2010. STIX isn't working as a regular font (the text doesn't show up) and when using it as a math font in Word's recently added equation fields, STIX math causes the software to crash.

I don't know if this is a Word bug or a font bug, but I have used other math fonts, like Asana Math and XITS math successfully.

We are aware of the Microsoft 2007 display issue, it's not clear right now if it's a problem with the font or not, it works fine in Mac OSX/Word 2011, but we are investigating.

Can you provide more detail regarding the steps you took that caused the crash?

Thanks!

This problem appears to be specific to certain Word environments, notably Word 2010 running in Windows XP. Whether this is a bug with the font or with Word/XP is unknown. For example, it does not present itself when running Word under Mac OS/X. We have been unsuccessful isolating the cause and elected to release version 1.1.0, acknowledging the problem in the release notes.
