\underbrace doesn't work

\underbrace in XeLaTeX is giving me |-------{z------} instead of a brace. Presumable it's not defined in the MATH table?

Turn out mathtools was causing the issue. Had to map \underbrace to \LaTeXunderbrace. Closing this for now.
