Make STIX truly distinguishable from Times New Roman! #194

In order for STIX to be truly better than Times New Roman:

Thanks for your suggestions. I’ll take a look at the percentage, permille, and related glyphs again, since the forms we used were based on those in earlier iterations of the STIX fonts. The other suggestions are idiomatically inappropriate to the style of type.

I agree with you except for:

The a should be double-storey, even on italics.

I prefer the single-storey one, as most fonts do. Or you can give me an example of double-storey a in italics

Also, I recommend:

1. Make numbers in STIX 2 Text and STIX 2 Math the same! Now numbers in STIX text is in the old-style (Times New Roman) but STIX math is wider, which is very incompatible.

2. Make a Stylistic Set of STIX 1 for people who prefer the old Times New Roman style
