When I want to write something in Word 2010 with the STIX font, the characters are invisible. This is in Word on Windows 7 (64 bit) not XP. It works in Exel and Power Point.

Thank you for the report, particularly in regard to Windows 7. At present it is unclear what is causing these display issues, but we will continue to look into this.

We just released v1.1.1 of STIX-Word which addresses the reported issues. The zip bundle to download is STIX-v1.1.1-word.zip.
