I have the same problem under Windows 7. The baseline is totally wrong in this version. In attachment it is STIXGeneral

Assuming your issue is the same as Sharcoux, then this is a known issue which is fixed in version 2.0.0. The last news on the STIX website was that this new version would be released in the last quarter of this year:

"On May 28, 2014, the STIpub companies announced that Version 2.0.0, the next generation of STIX, was under development with a target release date of early 2015. The development required to achieve our desired level of quality and improvements took longer than anticipated and we are now targetting a release in the third quarter of 2016."

Actually, I get different results given if I am using v1.1.0, v1.0.0 or v1.1.1. With 1.0.0 and 1.1.0 I just get a wrong baseline as shown in this picture, but with v1.1.1 the font is totally messed up like in this issue

Version 2.0.0 of STIX was released today. Many improvments have been made to the text portion of the font and we expect that your issue has been resolved. However if the problem persists or new issues are uncovered we'd appreciate the feedback.
