Don't merge! Very much a work in progress.

The first page is full viewport with a fixed background that gives it an interesting scroll effect. You'll have to try it out for yourself, though it's not something I invented so you probably have seen it before :)

As you scroll:

Typography is based on @yorthehunter's HumbleKit. I'm sure he can speak to it better than I can but it certainly has an excellent Vertical Rhythm :) It features official Stitch Fix colors that were at least official before the new branding stuff. Not sure if these have changed or not.

(Above one is a bit cut off, so as you scroll more:)

Would love feedback on the general design. Content I'm still revising but feedback there is great as well.

I haven't gotten to the team or blog stuff yet but now that there's a direction it will go much faster if we like this. I don't want to spend too much timing getting all content over until we all like the general direction.

If you haven't seen HumbleKit yet: http://www.humblekit.com/pages/index

Other things I'm working on:

davetron5000 commented 10 years ago

I dig the new design. The only thing I think needs more work is the initial screen. Everything else uses the full-width bar, but the two text boxes on the first screen are centered half-width. What do they look like full width?

Overall though, it feels better than the current design and definitely like the direction…

jonathandean commented 10 years ago

Good point @davetron5000. The first version where this came from had every page similar and in a "slide" format. So it's not using the grid or other classes from HumbleKit. Could use some work.

Forgot to mention I haven't done mobile styles yet, but much if it aside from the nav is already ready.

jonathandean commented 10 years ago

There is also a section for the AA team that aren't in the screenshots if you download and run it, btw

ndp commented 10 years ago

looks good. I'll dig in a little bit later.

Please!!! no "Post-Agile"

jonathandean commented 10 years ago

@ndp you can thank @jeffb for the Post-Agile. I swear it wasn't me. ;)

ndp commented 10 years ago

yeah, but can you remove it? Or should I PR myself?

davetron5000 commented 10 years ago

it's gonna be hard to understand this PR if we have visual design and copy churning at the same time. If @jonathandean can get to a good visual design and structure, then we can work on the copy (and not that I disagree about "Post-Agile")

jonathandean commented 10 years ago

@ndp @davetron5000 I'll be more than happy to take that out :)

nickflux commented 10 years ago

I'll ask folks for photos. Also, we need to make Jeff and Paolo's photos square.

nickflux commented 10 years ago

Also, why no roll-over descriptions of people or something. The github / linkedin links at least would be good, plus full names - people will want to Google us.

jonathandean commented 10 years ago

@nickflux for descriptions I just hadn't figured out the interaction there. I think just the photos look nicer than the super long list and some have commented on the size of that section before. Would clicking the images go to their own page? I think the idea of first and last name plus the social links would at least be better

nickflux commented 10 years ago

I think the look of what you so far is right. Just names and links when you mouse over the photos might be good.

jonathandean commented 10 years ago

Added social links and bios into the team section. To reduce clutter I played with expandable bios that you click to expand

that section does need to get a mobile grid as well that stacks instead of squeezes them in. also need to fix the top nav on mobile

jonathandean commented 10 years ago

I think @yorthehunter may work on the mobile breakpoints a bit but otherwise this is about ready to go. I'm keen to get back into a normal PR cycle for easier collaboration. I just merged in latest blog posts and job descriptions.

davetron5000 commented 10 years ago

ship it!

yorthehunter commented 10 years ago

Yep, maybe ship it now and PR it for the mobile stuff later. I'll look at that stuff today.

nickflux commented 10 years ago

Ship it!

jonathandean commented 10 years ago

I'm pretty sure the rule goes that 3 ship it = automatic merge
