@davetron5000 @ebressert I've added all problems and solutions. This can be considered a complete first draft.

Awesome. I think this could use a couple things, namely an intro and a conclusion.

I think both can be a sort-of call-to-action like "here's a bunch of random awesome unix stuff we do—what does your team do?" or even "can you think of an even more efficient way to do this stuff?"

The "conclusion" could be along the same lines, e.g. "post in the comments what your favorite unix hacks are".

BTW mine was really more of a joke so I'm not at all offended if you guys wanted to leave it off, great for an april 1 post though perhaps :-).
