Upcoming event at SVT #19

Description

SVT would like to host an event again in ~November~ April. The date is a bit preliminary since we haven't secured a studio yet.

We are looking for speakers both for the two main talks and for lightning talks.

How do I add labels? Would like to add the label Looking for speakers.

Oops, missed that there was an event for November in issues.

What do you think of trying to get a theme going for this event? One theme that we've been wanting to pursue for a while is GraphQL, perhaps we could make that happen? What do you think?

Yeah, that sounds like a good theme. I'll ask around a bit here at SVT to see if anyone here wants to give a talk about something GraphQL-y. We do use it quite a lot so I hope so.

Three of us will also be going to React Conf now at the end of October - so perhaps we could also have a talk about take-aways from there. Or like the panel from last year.

@mflodin reached out to me regarding speaking, and I'd love to do it. Am i supposed to like submit an abstract or something? 😅 How do you usually do this?

@Pallinder Sorry for the late reply. We've started discussing this again here at SVT. We're aiming for a preliminary date April 22. We'll probably have one speaker talking about our GraphQL api. Maybe this could be the GraphQL themed meetup?

Great! I might have a speaker on how to design GraphQL API:s if we are interested, it might not be only React JS but it might suit, what do you think?

@Pallinder That sounds good, please check with them. Or is @emilniklas still up for speaking?

We have booked a studio at SVT now April 22, with recording.

Also, I guess there is a risk of cancelling the event due to Corona, but for now it looks ok to have the event.

Unfortunately all public gatherings (audiences at tv shows, group tours, and meetups) at SVT have been cancelled until further notice. If the situation improves we might be able to have the event April 22, but it doesn't seem very likely at the moment.

Yeah, I suspected as much! We are probably going to hold off on any meetups until further notice as well.
