I have problems with signing up too. The app crashes at SocketOperator.java:99
with FileNotFound exception. But everything seems to be set right...

I've already fixed my error. In SocketOperator.java for
AUTHENTICATION_SERVER_ADDRESS I add "index.php" in the end of address. So the
address will be "http://192.168.7.5/android_im/index.php".

It works like a charm on the XAMPP Package ;)
You can check your Apache Config when manually navigating to
http://<SERVERIP>/android_im/index.php?action=authenticateUser&username=<USERNAM
E>&password=<PASSWORD>
if you dont see a single Zero in your upper left corner, it works!
If your skilled in web debugging you can just take a look on your http
response-head, it should look something like this:
<data>
<user userKey='1' />
<friend username = 'User1' status='online' IP='192.168.0.51' userKey = '2'/>
<friend username = 'User2' status='offline' IP='192.168.0.52' userKey = '3'/>
</data>

@sanatanvir053:
have you already signed up? or what parameters have you used in your
http://<SERVERIP>/android_im/index.php?action=authenticateUser&username=<USERNAM
E>&password=<PASSWORD>
for the placeholders <SERVERIP>, <USERNAME> and <PASSWORD>?
