Hugo graphics/text positioning #136

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Run ndrift.hex
2.Maximize window
3.Press the space bar several time to enter the game proper
4.Type "l"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It is hard to explain, but the graphics and text should be rendered and
positioned in a way where they are both visible. Under Gargoyle, only the
graphics is visible, and next of the text is. Typing "l" (look) should have
provided a paragraph a text description of the current room, but none of it is
visible under Gargoyle. Please compare with the game run with Hugo Run-time.
(I understand this is probably not a huge priority, but I spotted it and I felt
like I should report it.)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Gargoyle Build 2010.1

Please provide any additional information below.
The game is too large to be attached here, please download the zip-archive

Glk ports of Hugo incorrectly calculate a display setting called
display.windowlines which has a detrimental effect on Hugo games with
particular layouts. This problem is most likely not Gargoyle's fault.

I'm not sure if anyone will take over maintenance for the Hugo Glk port, and
the task is somewhat complicated by its source code license.

Players will likely be better served by the new Hugor interpreter, especially
in games that use graphics.
