Hey everybody,

Recently the media has reported that the Australian spy agencies will get a $600 million per year boost and essentially become mini clones of the NSA. (Article) - Video

I've personally be involved with running a lot of campaigns against the NSA over the past year and would love to run a campaign for Australia. (Campaigns)

We would attempt to raise awareness of the issue and also let individuals place pressure on legislators who misrepresent them via calls, emails and other social media avenues. (Example)

I'm sure all skill sets can be utilized and look forward to hearing from anyone interested.

Things needed

Orgs can participate by simply sharing on the launch dates in exchange for a logo on the home page

Design

It will be a modern/casual website with friendly toned language. Design inspiration may be taken from TDWFB, BattleForTheNet, ResetTheNet, StandAgainstSpying

Open Source

Lots of libraries for contacting legislators will be built out and open sourced under the github.com/australia account.

Legislation

This needs some work, but we will flesh out ideal outcomes and achievable outcomes and aim for somewhere in between.

Looks like legislation will be coming out in September

Agree with above.

The development will be done in public to lower the barrier to entry. Though we could setup a separate cryptocat chat room?

Happy to help though I don't know how much free time I'll have in the next week or so (depending on how quickly this thing is aimed to launch). I'm reasonable at slinging code around and also at HTML / CSS, though my design skills are mediocre at best. I'll keep an eye on the issues to see if I can step in and help.

I'd be happy to help with the site design. I work with @pospi , so you can verify with him if required. I'm a senior designer, so have quite a bit of experience.

Just let me know what's required and when :)
