When onboarding customers, the out-of-box performance for downloading objects is less than ideal. We typically need to hop on a call with customers to tune their configuration to achieve good performance when using the network. We want to improve this experience for new customers and make it easier to get great performance out-of-the-box.

We have improved the single-threaded download performance of 1GB by 50% through an unconstrained gateway.

Measurements need to be made via the gateway MT, and we can also start to collect data from uplink and linkshare to see how we progress.

on 5/3/2023 we are observing performance that is roughly 42 to 44 seconds
