Hi Davide, would you be willing to poke through the old email archives at https://vpnc-devel.unix-ag.uni-kl.narkive.com/ trying to find viable ideas for improvements, rescuing&reviewing old patches, etc., and transferring them to your github repo? Thank you for your efforts to rescue vpnc.

I actually won't scour the e-mail archive looking for things to merge. The purpose of this fork was to let people interested in active development to have a new point to head to if they were willing to have their patches and request included in the project: if someone has so, I'd be happy to merge their PR or to port a explicitly explained patch by myself.
