AppImage binary has no icon #2613

Open xfzv opened 1 year ago

What happened?

Looks like the AppImage binary doesn't have any icon.

On my main system using AwesomeWM (Xorg), Notesnook icon doesn't appear at all: image

This is even worse when using programs icons in taglist, the Notesnook icon isn't displayed either despite the program being opened in a tag. This is confusing, one can think that Notesnook isn't running while it is.

With a Kubuntu 22.04 (Xorg) virtual machine:

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. On a Linux distribution, download notesnook_linux_x86_64.AppImage (2.4.11)
  2. Make it executable
  3. Run it
  4. There's no icon in the task list and window title bar (on KDE Plasma / AwesomeWM)

Version

2.4.11

Platform/OS

Linux

AwesomeWM users can use this in the meantime as a workaround:

intrntbrn/icon_customizer

Works fine:

@xfzv is this still an issue on the latest version?

xfzv commented 1 year ago

@thecodrr I'm on 2.6.3-124489a-desktop and the issue persists.

On KDE Plasma:

And still no icon on AwesomeWM.
