Don't know what this means but it is an error relating to sync on my pixel phone syncing with Pixel Tablet both running Grapheme OS the phone has Notesnook 2.6.5

Device information: App version: 2.6.1 Platform: android Model: google-Pixel Tablet-33 Pro: true Logged in: yes

Grayintas commented 1 year ago

That should read "grapheme OS"

Grayintas commented 1 year ago

GRAPHENE!!!! Flipping spell-thingy.

thecodrr commented 1 year ago

@Grayintas please update your android app to v2.6.5.

Grayintas commented 1 year ago

Thanks, I was confused because I downloaded Notesnook from Droid-ify, and they do not have 2.6.5 there (yet), Goolag store only has 2.6.1. where can I find 2.6.5? cheers

Grayintas commented 1 year ago

Found it in the Aurora Store...but download incompatible and so it failed. The earlier version is on the Pixel Tablet. Could it be that it is behind in the updates? The device was only released in June.

thecodrr commented 1 year ago

Aurora Store has the Google Play Store version which is not compatible with the F-Droid or GitHub version. You can download the latest version from releases here on GitHub: https://github.com/streetwriters/notesnook/releases/tag/2.6.5-android

Bad to worse.....on the pixel tablet I uninstalled Notesnook, installed 2.6.5, tried to sync and got the SAME sync failed error. Also the backup I made prior would not restore. I hope I don't end up loosing everything like I did with Evernote.

Update, restore worked, 2.6.5 installed, but same error with sync Failure.

IMG_20230917_200820 hope this works....

thecodrr commented 1 year ago

Okay, from the error it appears to be a data corruption. However, you can try this:

  1. Go to Settings > Backups and click "Backup now" to take a new backup.
  2. Logout
  3. Log back in
  4. Make sure sync is working (if you still see the same error then there's nothing else to do but reset your account)
  5. If sync is working, restore your backup
Grayintas commented 1 year ago

Thanks for that, well strangely enough...sync has begun to work, I've been testing it, so far so good, no idea why! So based on the old proverb "..if it ain't broke, don't fix it" I will just keep an eye on it, but do a backup anyway. Thanks so much for your persistent help.
