calendar picker for notes #3724

Just like for example in supernotes https://supernotes.app/ I would find it helpful to have a visual calendar picker for notes in the left column so that a click on the respective day shows all notes from that day in the second left column.

(In addition the day could have on or more dots for one or more notes below the number, maybe 1 dot for 1 note, 2 dots for up to 5 notes, 3 for up to 10 notes, 4 for more (not linear scaling). Dots could maybe have different colors. Or a small number below or in the corner of each day's number. A kind of a "heatmap")

One could also for example long-click on Monday number and all notes for one week would be displayed or long-click on the month name and all notes for the month are displayed!?

For convenience I think it would be wise to make this calendar collapsible so that by default only the word "calendar" is seen on the left column. Clicking on it would expand the calendar.

As an alternative or in addition you could introduce an approach with a calendar row on top of the editor window that is more like a timeline for example as RemNote does this: https://www.remnote.com/productivity (scroll a bit down)

You can already acheive something like this using Groups. Just Group By Month, Year, or Week and then you can jump between groups to see the notes that you took during that period.

Ok, I get what you mean.

Clicking on one Monday would display only one week of notes, grouping by week I get a list of ALL weeks which looks more overwhelming, if many notes are taken. So being able to display notes of one week / month / year and then being able to go forward or backward with arrow buttons and / or arrow keys for example would give better overview in my opinion, kind of more narrow visual search focus.

Another option that could already help (and that I was intuitively searching for coming from Outlook): being able to expand / collapse all groups. This way I could expand only the week of interest, for example and finding content would be much easier. Still seeing a calendar scheme visually and seeing which day or week or year I am "maneuvering" in could be helpful.
