What problem are you facing?

Dear Notesnook Team,

I hope this message finds you well. As an enthusiastic user of Notesnook, I appreciate the privacy-centric approach and ease of use that your platform provides. However, I have some feature requests that would significantly enhance my experience and productivity:

  1. LaTeX Support for Text and Math Equation Formatting: As a student and researcher, I frequently need to include mathematical equations and scientific notations in my notes. Having LaTeX support would greatly improve the readability and accuracy of my content.
  2. Hierarchical Structure: While Notesnook already offers a clean and organized interface, introducing a hierarchical structure for notebooks and folders would allow users to better categorize and manage their notes. This feature would be especially helpful for organizing complex projects and research materials.
  3. Real-Time Collaboration: Collaboration is essential, especially when working on group projects or research papers. Real-time collaboration features would enable seamless teamwork, allowing multiple users to edit and contribute to the same note simultaneously.

I want to use Notesnook for daily schedule planning and Academic Writing and Research. Therefore, it would be best if each Task List and other features could display updated completion times. Additionally, I hope Notesnook can provide the functionality commonly found in academic writing tools. With these capabilities, I can not only organize my schedule in Notesnook and record what I do each day, including studying, completing tasks, and working on projects, but also use it for academic paper writing.

Now, regarding the limitations in the free version, I have a couple of questions:

  1. Lock and Sync Functionality: Why does the free version not support the lock and sync features? These functionalities are crucial for data security and seamless access across devices.
  2. Task List, Todo List, and Quote Functionality without Hyperlinks: Could you please explain why the free version restricts adding hyperlinks to task lists, todo lists, and quotes? As a student with limited financial resources, I find these limitations challenging.

Lastly, I’d like to express my appreciation for Notion, Evernote, and Obsidian. While they serve different purposes, they are indeed powerful tools for knowledge organization, summarization, and even book writing. However, the lack of open-source options remains a concern for users like me who value transparency and freedom.

Thank you for your attention to these requests, and I look forward to seeing Notesnook continue to evolve as a privacy-centric and user-friendly note-taking solution.

Sincerely,

David

I hope the Notesnook team considers these enhancements and continues to provide a valuable platform for users worldwide.
