Laptop and phone out of sync #5997

My laptop and phone will not sync properly. My phone has the more up-to-date version of my notes. Notes made on my phone do not show up on my laptop. Edits made on my laptop do not show up on my phone. I am on an older version but I wanted to have all my notes properly synced before I update. I was considering doing a force-sync but I heard that can cause data loss. What is the safest way to fix this? I manually added the missing notes from my laptop onto my phone, so the phone version is the version I want to keep. Should I update or force-sync? My phone does not have the most up-to-date version of notesnook either. I am concerned because it appears my phone is not backing up all of its notes either (3k notes are listed in a single notebook, but when I make a .txt backup, it only says it backed up 2k notes. I can't tell how many notes there are in the standard backup, but hopefully it is backing them all up.) Thank you for any help!

Hi, what version of the app is installed on your phone?

  1. Take a backup on mobile. Go to Settings -> Backup & Restore -> Backups -> Backup now. The backup will include all your notes.
  2. Update mobile and laptop apps to the latest version
  3. Once your mobile app is updated, it will run migration and sync your latest notes to laptop.
