Monome 64 and Beap? #24

Hello, i hope it´s ok to post a beap related question here.

i try to set up my monome 64 h and beap within max4live. the connection works without problems with the serialosc building block of beap.

i tried to work stuff out by wathchng your beap and external controllers video several timesb ut can´t get the monome to talk with any of the provided modules.

i´d like to use the 64h to set steps and change pitch on the beap sequencer. could you please give me a quick rundown on how i could make this work? i´d love to trigger and sequence my eurorack modular from beap.

This is the right place. One quick question, have you tried any of the examples in the monome folder? Do they work?

thanks! :) i tried the polygome in max4live and it works!

maybe i wasn´t clear, english isn´t my native tongue, sorry. would there be a way for a monome to interact with any of the beap modules who aren´t tied to the monome like polygome? it´s particulary the sequencer i´m interested in at this point, would be great if you could help me here!

Thanks for the patch, this works as expected! i´m working myself through those examples. am i right that modules without monome patchpoints aren´t able to be connected to a monome? i thougt that modules like 64p and 64L are eventually made for this purpose, so one could "monomify" ,for example, the gate sequencer to be controlled by the monome.

A monome module in Beap is a module that sends and receives Beap signals (or MIDI messages) and in turn, communicates to a serialosc module via monome-formattted messages. Some of the modules are fairly high level like Plane or Polygome, and others are quite simple like 64P. Some modules are for the arc and some are for the grid. There really isn't any end to the kinds of modules that fit this description, so I anticipate there will continually be more. Modularizing some of my monome ideas and coupling them with the modularity of Beap compartmentalized development in a meaningful and flexible way.

The only options for communication are 'Signals' (like modular 1v/oct), 'MIDI' (formatted MIDI messages), and 'Monome' (formatted monome messages). Since there isn't any way to 'program' the gate sequencer over a Signal message, for example, Monome support would have to explicitly be added to that module. The MIDI/Drum Sequencer does have explicit monome support.
