Houdini engine integration #560

It would be really great help if Xenko would support the Houdini engine integration! Like in Unity ! I mean Houdini is a heavy parametric lifter already , why to reinvent the wheel! You could focus on the technical side on the engine code, and the community could deliver on the artistic front so Xenko could gain tract more faster !

As it is not a free product, I don't think it should be the role of the community to integrate it. If Houdini team wants to sponsor someone to do it, why not. Otherwise I'm afraid there isn't enough resources to do it. Additionally it adds maintenance burden.

I'm working with the free version Apprentice, that's good enough for me, but i understand your point if you're low on resources. I'm just saying that the whole community would gain an additional exponential boost. Yeah the sponsorship would help for sure.

The Houdini Engine integrations for Unity and Unreal are developed and maintained by Side Effects themselves and not by Epic or Unity (at least, this was the case a year ago or so). Houdini is amazing, but a proper integration is no small feat.

Ran across this, and it's an idea I've thought about before ... I've actually started working on a little .NET 7/8 NuGet package for HDK and Houdini Engine but I've been so swamped with work that I've only been able to spend a couple hours on it and it's a non-trivial task, to say the least. But, at some point, I will finish the package (when time/work allows) and then it would open the doors to making something like this a real thing. However, it'll definitely require some more people helping out. I'm not promising to deliver the integration, but if other people are serious about doing it I'd be willing to talk about it. :-)
