The news module needs to be modified so it pulls news from here no the old 
website.

I agree -- It's probably at the bottom of the list todo still so I just edited 
spam_karma_2_plugin.php and deleted that part of the code.

Look for // GET NEWS and delete that section if you want to do the same thing.

Commenting out "News" code for now.  Perhaps re-implement later...?
