Make the Fever API compatible with Read You

So you know, we squash PRs. It might be worth breaking this up into two separate PRs so that they can be merged separately. That'll make it easier to review the changes individually, too.

I kept it in one since both changes are required for Read You to work at all, none individually really improves the situation. Personally I'm not dogmatic about squashing PRs, if the author maintains a good history I just rebase/merge to preserve it :)
