Could you add Ctrl+V
for AutoFill from StrongBox (like KeePass2 feature)? I think it would be great!
HI @AndresHG - Are you referring to the AutoType feature? Or what would you expect to happen when you Cmd+V?
Note Strongbox does not support AutoType at the moment.
Hi @strongbox-mark - I don't know if it's called AutoType (but probably, yes).
In KeePass2, when you press Ctrl-V
over a database entry, the app drops KeePass2 to the background and type the username and password into the last app used (you can also configure how to do it).
The feature does: switch to background application, type the username, simulate Tab
pressing, type the password and simulate Enter
hit.
Ah yes, this is the AutoType feature. I'm hold that the built in MacOS AutoFill feature is a better solution to this problem and so I'm reluctant to build AutoType into Strongbox at the moment. If it was to be built in, then yes, we'd use the standard Key Binding to trigger it.
Oh! I didn't know it. Thanks a lot. Then, I will wait untill the feature is added to the MacOS system.
This is an essential feature now that most of the macOS key bindings that I've been using regularly were changed without warning and with no way to restore them. It's unbelievable that what previously only copied the username, for example, suddenly opened a browser and launched the URL!?!
I am still interested in this feature. I am currently using bettertouchtool to customize keyboard shortcuts and to provide hide on copy ( #633 ). however, when I use the mouse to double click in the column for copy username and password. I miss the consistency of having the same behavior.
Allow users to change the keyboard shortcuts - at least for popular functions like copy password etc.
