Add item from template #487

Hello Mark, I would suggest one useful feature - add item from template. This is not about custom fields names/structure, but to have pre-filled standard form. F.e. we have:

template called "SSH". It will have URL "ssh1://{NOTES} -l {USERNAME} -pw {PASSWORD} -loghost "{TITLE}""
template called "SSH-KEY" with URL "ssh1://{NOTES}" In WIN KeePass is using group with static name [TEMPLATES] to provide list of items:

Hrmm, wouldn't the Duplicate (Cmd+K) functionality work for you here?

Yes, it will work. Just more actions required, because we need: 1) search for same type of item 2) choose from the list of found items 3) duplicate item 4) drag & drop duplicated item to target folder (what could be not easy in case of huge tree)

Hi @mbirth - I don't think so actually. #281 is called "Templates" but it;s more about Entry Types, i.e. Secure Notes, Credit Cards, Software Licenses, Passports, etc, with some fields hidden, some emphasized and other specialized masks and UI features (i.e. Credit Card numbers might be spaced in blocks of 4 digits, etc)...

Templates seem to be more like create a regular entry with the following fields filled in like so...
