Problem: In attract mode 1UP, hiscore and CREDITS texts are always shown and cause CRT burn-in over time.

It's still desirable to show hiscore in game over screen texts are hidden in the other attract mode screens. Code is here: https://github.com/stt/romhacks/tree/master/galaxian/patch/maincpu Checkout readme for compilation instructions

Future improvement: if game has unused credits it sits at "press start" screen indefinitely, could make it cycle through other screens.

This is the placement of the EPROMs on the PCB (afaik).

Only the ROMs with changes are highlighted but to make sure you're using the same version as the patched code it's recommended to update all of them.
