I don't know the actual steps to reproduce this, but @stuartlangridge asked me to submit this regardless. I'll just sort of describe how my day went.
Start working at desk with external mic
Move laptop to living room, using its internal mic
Mic becomes permanently muted (as shown on the LED on my keyboard, but not perse in tray)
Unmute mic manually
At the end of the day, as I was dictating an email I was writing, I apologised to my colleague because I assumed he couldn't hear what I was saying. He said he could hear me type and speak just fine.
@stuartlangridge assumed the following:
if you manage to switch what an active mic is while hushboard has one of them muted, we'll never unmute it because it's no longer active
I may have to change it so that we mute the running mic, and unmute whichever mic we muted, regardless of whether it's active. hm.
