Coming back to this 4+ years later: actually, sharing a common key in contexts that understand the key exists on its own is fine, and good, even: this is what I'm exploring with the KRAFT Model I've been describing in my notes.
I'm writing a thing on barfspace right now about how it's critical that UUIDs don't leave the domain of their origin (ie. that no project with a UUID created for its document on barfspace should then reuse that UUID for its project listing on https://unusual.studio/projects).
This can probably work as an offshoot of whatever Trello board was going to write about Datastores.
