I think VIP would be a good candidate. I was planning on including this dataset for an example anyways since we are using it in a current research project. It is in HDF-EOS format.
It also has a Pixel Reliability layer with multiple flag values to use in addressing #81.
Based on some simple tests, rioxarray appears to read in this file format just fine. But I will add the dataset to the catalog to confirm.
VIP as a HDF seems to perform fine with 64a00d97a9d25549eac092cec6942e422e3ee0d8 . I'll create new issue for VIP-specifc issues
requested in geocdl meeting today: some desired datasets will be stored in hdf format. We should add a dataset like that and make sure its properties are compatible with geocdl.
