Where should the average bubbles be shown on the main page? #14

Where should the quick-view average bubbles be shown on the main page, how big should they be, and how should they look. I referred to the wireframes, but I need more guidance. (Screenshot below of main page as of build 20408, 1/12/2013) screen shot 2013-12-01 at 19 51 24 pm

I don't know...the bubbles seem a little out of place where they are right now.

I would say try putting the bubbles on the side...? To the right. Will it seem too off centre?

Libbux commented 10 years ago

@mcheung10 Based on the current layout which gravitates to the centre and is very symmetrical and balanced, I don't feel like it would work. It doesn't have to be a bubble though. I know we've looked at progress bars as well.

@Libbux Can we try having the bubble slightly overlap the rectangle?

As discussed earlier today: the idea of having the averages show up as "notification badge" style bubble. I created a wireframe based on our discussion.

Here is a quick prototype. The colour of the badge is indicative of what that average has done over the last week. The top one is green, meaning that particular average has gone up in the last week. The bottom one is grey, meaning it hasn't moved. The third state (not shown) is red, meaning it has gone down.

Here is a revised version of build 20409. Note the orange badge on the clock -- that is just for our reference, it replaces the ugly "build 12345" footer.

@Libbux I like it. Looking good.

@Libbux I've installed the app on two Android devices (275 PPI and 323 PPI) and the bubbles look way too small on both devices. Would it be possible to increase the size of them?

Libbux commented 10 years ago

@mcheung10 You mean the badges (with the averages inside them), or the blocks (big green things)?

mcheung10 commented 10 years ago

@Libbux I am talking about the badges. Sorry about the confusion.
