Maps are too dark - adjustable ambient light #1438

Feature description There should be a setting to adjust global ambient light, i.e. to adjust the base light level in the darkest areas in maps.

Feature purpose Maps like substructure are almost unusable in a lot of areas without the tedium of manually placing lights everywhere, and I don't really care to do this, so I just avoid these maps except for when I need one of the well-lit areas. The abyss as well is also unusably dark for when I want to see what has fallen into the pit.

The brightness setting only affects light sources, and does not affect the global ambient light. This means that pitch black areas remain pitch black. The only way to see what I am doing is to disable lighting, but this is not desirable either because it does not look very pretty, and disables cool effects like muzzle flashes, fire light, etc.

I simply want to boost the base level brightness to a point where I can see literally anything at all.

Thanks!

I have an alternate solution. If you go into the video options, you can disable lighting effects. This will disable all other light effects though, not just enviormental.

That's not a solution. He wants to make the lights lighter/darker, not remove all lighting.
