What makes this better than an immobility field?
This would be limited by the oriantation of the tool, would have limit on the things it could attach to and objects would have to be really close to get attached upon activation and there woulden't be a glowing orb as well. Also i found out the imobility field, doesn't hold objects as well as a regular constraint, think of this as a regular constraint that can be activated and deactivated. The imobility field looks like it only dampens the movement of objects inside it, i would like this to hold on to objects, just like constraints. This could also grab on to the environment, just like normal constraints do, offcourse not the background, but the black floor.
Mhh the gravity gun is pretty much what i am going for, but without the infinite grabbing distance. Only objects that are colliding/or really close in proximity to the hooks can be grabbed when the machine is activated.
Feature description Upon activation the object would stick to other objects, when deactivated the objects would no longer stick to each other. Maybe it should grapple/stick only for brief amount of time at the start of activation, to avoid other objects continously getting stuck to it, or you could limit it so it can only parent to one or two other objects.
Feature purpose So many great contracptions could be built with this tool, like grapling hooks, would help self made tank threads be more grippy, factories could be build that could build other things, Assembling/Dissasembling things could be built like transformers, etc.
