It could be nice to have a command line tool based on this api. Also I want a pony.

Are you looking specifically for a python based CLI tool or just a CLI tool in general? Because this exists: https://github.com/bahamas10/hue-cli

Just a command line tool. This other tool may well be fit for purpose.
