Multi-layer boards

New Feature Idea:
Give pads and traces a "Layer" property.
Would be useful for those of us that etch our own double sided boards.

And to be able to save/print both trace layers properly.

Example:
Layer = Layer1 = Normal trace side.
Layer = Layer2 = Component side.

Gerber or one of the other common PCB formats that are used by PCB 
manufacturers would be cool.
But I realize that would be a MAJOR undertaking.
(If it has been suggested before ad-nauseum, I apologize).
