Latest Update

So folks may have noticed recently that I haven't been posting any coding updates these past several days. The reason: I'm currently in Dallas and haven't nearly had any computer time. It's a bit of a long story but the SO is looking at grad school programs so we're currently here exploring the area. The days have been long and grueling and my health hasn't been the greatest. But where there's a will... love finds a way! 🤗

I have lots of observations about Texas but here's the first and most profound: The interstate highway system here is positively insane. All my life, I've driven on highways in the likes of MT, NJ, and OH. And while there are bad drivers everywhere, I have never seen worse drivers than here in Texas. Moreover, the highways here are narrow, the cars are speeding at 90-100 mph, the trucks and their wheels are gigantic, and there are no "on-ramps." Like, literally, you just merge directly onto the interstate and pray that you don't get hit. In NJ and OH, we'd have epic 2-3 mile, clover-style interstate exchanges, right? Not so here in Texas. 😟

My other observation: If you don't want to risk your life on I-30 (which is free), you can also choose to pay tolls to drive on the President George Bush Turnpike. You need to pay money but it's well worth it-- the turnpike's modern with significantly wider lanes, has shoulders, and are four lanes across (I-30 is only two lanes each way).

Anyway, I have tons more details, but it's definitely been a very educational trip so far! 😄

I haven't been to Texas, but people complain about FL drivers. Maybe you'll have to come here and decide which is worse. We have on-ramps though so maybe that makes us better. 😂 I am happy that you're having fun even though you aren't feeling the best. The code will be there when you get back.
