Something like:

Sort players by number of remaining lives descending (leaders at the top). Knocked out players at bottom, ordered by round knocked out.

Better representation of lives.

Nice work Dan. I like the circles and lives lost indication.

I've done a couple more things to this:

I've split it into two lists - the first has players that are still in the game. The second has knocked out players.
The lists are sorted based on what you'd expect - lives lost, then round knocked out desc for knocked out players

Not sure if we want to do any particular styling difference for knocked out players or just leave it as it is - do whatever you reckon.

Styling knocked out players differently is indeed a good idea, IMHO. I'll work based on what you added :boom:
