possibly interested in helping out. could give hour or so a week towards issues and bug fixes. be nice to see some updates.

I've helped with grunt-contrib in the past and maintain node-archiver.

optikfluffel commented 11 years ago

I don't feel experienced enough to do it on my own but would help wherever I can :)

simonwjackson commented 11 years ago

I'd like to update the homepage a bit. Make it a bit more accessable.

Let me know if i could help!

yoshuawuyts commented 11 years ago

I'd also want to help out where possible; it struck me a bit when I saw some issues are over 2 years old.

optikfluffel commented 11 years ago

@visionmedia please let @ctalkington try and we help him out :)

notslang commented 11 years ago

@visionmedia - I'd be willing to maintain this since I have free time now that school is over.

I've helped with Jade, roots, and a handful of smaller projects. And I would love to deal with these issues for you. Especially if optikfluffel, ctalkington, yoshuawuyts, and simonwjackson are willing to help.

@slang800 I believe all the magic is happening over at Rework and Styl. @visionmedia is building a completely modular preprocessor that doesn't feature a runtime. It has a few advantages over Stylus, the major one being super fast compilation (a few hundred times faster I believe). The way I see it: once variables and calculations are fixed it's ready to replace Stylus (for me at least).

Something else that's cool: prefixing and other shenanigans can (and have been) integrated into the preprocessor itself, basically omitting the need for a library like Nib. This is very much like roots in a sense, but I think it is the right approach.

However, if you want to take over maintenance I can only encourage you! I however prefer to focus my efforts on Styl. I think the philosophy of that project is better (huzzah, modularity!) and it still needs a hand on quite some things (like building a grunt task.)

Thanks @yoshuawuyts, I noticed Rework but didn't know about Styl. However, I'm still interested in maintaining Nib because Styl is far from finished and Stylus has no clear upgrade path to Styl, so people will probably rely on it for a while.

So, I would like to:

and once styl is more stable

@slang800 Sounds like a sound plan. If you really want to maintain this repo you can always send @visionmedia an email. I found him to be very friendly and responsive, I'm not sure he's still actively watching issues on nib.

notslang commented 11 years ago

ok, I will, thanks

yoshuawuyts commented 11 years ago

Does that mean you got push rights?

notslang commented 11 years ago

yep :) ... working on closing all the old issues right now

yoshuawuyts commented 11 years ago

Great news! Good luck on your endeavors.

notslang commented 11 years ago
