SU2 FWH Solver implemented for frequency domain? #1073

Closed monika1387 closed 3 years ago

I am working on this FWH analysis for far field spectra on jet noise from LES by SU2 Code with ADER-DG FEM, results are in good agreement. First, for FWH, I do not see any good implementation example or readme file to go through this analysis implementation, Can someone please share if it exist anywhere? I see only one branch by Edurado (still does not have any readme and also its in Python)

Second SU2 FWH formulation is based on time domain based (by Farasssat), is anytime SU2 team implemented FWH analysis for frequency domain formulation by Lockard as well? I do not see anything in SU2, If it exists again can someone share details about it? I would like to work on this Freq domain based FWH analysis, so help me if SU2 team developed it anytime or in process?

Thank you in advance for help!

Hey, I’ve been developing the SU2 FWH solver with a couple of folks over the past few years. If you look me up on google scholar you’ll see our related publications. The idea is to merge it in V7 and make it open source soon. I’m on vacation right now. Let’s schedule a call in around two weeks time? (beckett.y.zhou@gmail.com)

Best, Beckett

Hi Beckett,

Thank you for the response! Sure we can connect back after 2 weeks, probably I will work on it and also update you by that time what I got. I have gone through research papers relevant to FWH in SU2 that helps but implementation is still a question and few concerns on formulation. Anyway we can connect after your vacation. Thank you for the support.

H Beckett, You are available now to discuss this issue. I worked on frequency domain but not getting it right and have some issues. Also can you share if SU2 team worked on frequency domain FWH implementation or in progress? I got time domain FWH successfully for my LES data.
