8 years ago A small note that this issue should be gone with apps that will get migrated to Wayland. Meanwhile, and for apps that will remain behind X11 (Xpra) this remains an issue.

On Twitter.com in Tor Browser, attempted to change the keyboard layout so I could easily switch between typing languages, and the text box in the twitter.com tab would not recognize my change to the keyboard layout 9made via the UI, on the menu bar). Made it difficult to input text with a German layout keyboard when it had been selected to be English (UK), a layout I am not familiar with and which was not obvious on the physical keyboard itself.
