2 years ago It is expected from the addon/extension to automatically start the app if its already not running in the background. But the extension assumes XDM app isnt in the machine and does not grab the download file.
I got it to work on Windows 11 Pro, assuming you are using Microsoft Edge as you main web browser:
- Make sure to fully uninstall any prior version of BOTH the XDM program and the plugin in your web browser
- Download this XDM beta installer
- Close all instances of Microsoft Edge
- Temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall
- Install XDM beta
- Open Microsoft Edge and go to the Chrome web store (DO NOT use the Microsoft Store and definitely do NOT use the outdated method of installing the Edge plugin which says to download a zip file, extract etc) https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/xtreme-download-manager/dkckaoghoiffdbomfbbodbbgmhjblecj
- Install the Google Chrome plugin for XDM and then enable the plugin "Browser Monitoring" and in the XDM app also make sure that "Browser Monitoring" is enabled.
- Close Microsoft Edge
- Close XDM
- Reopen XDM
- Reopen Microsoft Edge and voila it works great!
