GUI unusable: all black #814

After a few weeks of perfectly working, all the GUI of xdm (either main windows or pop up) are now all black I'm running on Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS 64-bit with Gnome version 3.36.8 and windowing system X11. I don't think I've changed anything intentionally, although obviously something changed somewhere. Seeing https://github.com/subhra74/xdm/issues/479 , I've tried changing the transparency setting in the config file and restarting xdm but that didn't solve the pbm. the config file attached has been edited to remove username in the folders path but the path are correct on my computer. Any hint on where to look for the pbm would be highly appreciated.

I've also uninstall/ reinstall xdam (using the .sh scripts) but that doesn't resolve the pbm either

Same problem here. It was normal until I changed the scaling setting, cuz the layout was way too small on a 17-inch 4K display. I've tried go to /opt/xdman and look for config files but found nothing related.

And I decided it's time to move on, since this repo seems not actively maintained. Don't know if it's appropriate to say here, but I found uGet very handy.
