Commit Hanging with no Output #1756

Description

As the title says, just saw this twice in a row - I go to commit and I only see a message saying "running". Need to cancel it, delete the index.lock file and re-commit.

Steps to reproduce

Not sure, will post back if it keeps happening.

This is still an issue that prevents me from using Sublime Merge. Here is what the window looks like, with no information whatsoever about what is hanging:

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. To investigate further, could you please share your Sublime Merge debug information.

Debug Information The Sublime Merge debug information can be used to narrow down the cause of an issue. It can be collected with the following steps:

  1. Open Sublime Merge
  2. Open the repository where the bug occurs
  3. Navigate to Help > Debug Information via the application menu
  4. Before sharing, please redact any information that's sensitive such as file paths, git user information, remote URLs etc.
